The sketches shown concern a recurring dream from my childhood. In it I was tied to the middle of the living room ceiling in the house I grew up in. I was helplessly swinging from one side of the room to the other. Each time I swung from one side to the opposite wall I was confronted by a malicious smiling face. I was beyond terrified and helpless to stop this horrific swinging. This face was not a stereotypical devil face. The evil was shown by the cruel expression and pleasure derived from the activity. This dream occurred for two years and then ended when I was eleven.
I was definitely in a place in my youth where I didn't feel in control or protected. But I was safe at home but in my mind I doubted much.
