THESE TIMES.

HUNGRY GHOST (TOUPEE).

Oh what times we face in the land of the free. How can we ignore it ? Even Picasso, arguably one of the most self absorbed artists, couldn't ignore the facism that was consuming his homeland of Spain in the thirties. In Guernica he created the great outcry against facism, cruelty. So am I moved to make statements in my art dealing with what I believe to be a very similar energy in my homeland the United States.

As to what art can do in this digitally saturated age is up for speculation. And I am no Picasso so my audience is much smaller yet I feel compelled to use my gifts to make a statement in defense of the ideals of this great country. Where all are created equal. Where compassion is seen as a strength not a weakness.

Nationalistic and religous agendas are weakening this great country in ways that would horrify the founding fathers. My point in this blog entry is that even though your voice may seem small and weak do what you can to defend the downtrodden. Don't be silent. As for me it is creating certain works that highlight the injustices facing this great country. May we rise above all that is cruel and wrapped in greed. Onward my friends.
